EBRSO Arrests One in Shooting - One at Large

East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s detectives responded to a call of a shooting at approximately 2:00 yesterday afternoon in the 10000 block of Gretna Green Drive. Deputies located one man outside suffering from head injuries and another inside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both men were transported for treatment of their injuries and a perimeter was set up to look for additional suspects to no avail.

The man suffering from gunshot wounds, Michael Duchamp (dob 7/17/86), died today as a result of his injuries. The battered man remains in the hospital, but is expected to survive.

Anthony Myles (dob 2/18/88) was arrested this morning and charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Second Degree Battery, Aggravated Assault on Police, Public Masking and Principal to First Degree Murder.

A warrant has been issued for Arthur Rogers (dob 12/29/86) of 10666 Scotland Avenue for the same charges.

According to reports, Duchamp, Rogers and Myles went to Duchamp’s neighbor’s house on Gretna Green. The three men got into an altercation with the homeowner. Duchamp allegedly struck the homeowner with an object. The homeowner then shot Duchamp. A nearby Central Police Officer heard the disturbance and responded to the sound of gunfire. The officer saw a man wearing a mask armed with a gun run from the residence. As the man fled, he pointed his weapon at the officer. Through the course of the investigation detectives were able to identify the two men that fled as Myles and Rogers. According to a witness, Duchamp, Myles and Rogers went to the man’s house to commit a robbery. EBRSO SWAT took Myles into custody on S. 15th Street late last night. Detectives are still looking for Rogers (photo attached).
