UPDATE: Juvenile Arrested in Homicide: Looking for Second Suspect

East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Homicide detectives arrested a 16-year-old male Sunday in connection with the Jade Avenue Homicide and Armed Robbery that occurred early Saturday morning.

The juvenile is charged with First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, Illegal Use of a Weapon, Armed Robbery and Juvenile in Possession of a Handgun. EBRSO Investigates Jade Avenue Homicide East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s detectives responded to a report of shots fired in the 1800 block of Jade Avenue at approximately 3:40 Saturday morning. Ricardo Alberto Agular (04-27-1994) of 8561 Rush Ave was pronounced dead on the scene. A second man was transported for non-life-threatening injuries. According to reports the victims were sitting outside of the apartment when they were approached by two males in hooded sweatshirts who demanded money. The suspects shot and killed Agular and shot and injured a second victim before fleeing. This incident is under investigation.
